I need an existing automotive electrical plug/connector replicated. The original plug was created through injection molding, but this job does not necessitate that same production process until it makes sense financially. The job involves creating a 54 electrical pin plug that can endure underhood engine temperatures of up to 400°F. The copper pins themselves are not part of this design, but these pins would be inserted into the plug as part of an assembly process later by others. This plug must also incorporate a sealing method to prevent moisture intrusion, similar to the original plug which has a rubberized component.
- Material: The replicated plug should be made out of plastic.
- Original Plug: I have the actual plug that needs to be replicated and can ship it for review.
- Sealing Method: The moisture prevention method should be a rubber gasket.
Ideal candidates for this project should have experience in automotive part design and replication, particularly with electrical components. Proficiency in working with plastic is crucial, and understanding of automotive industry standards for temperature endurance, oil resistance and moisture resistance is a plus. Success in this project is the production of a singular replicated plug with the drawing files and their ownership transferred to me.
