Questions? if the scanned serial number IS a duplicate, or if the scanner did was not able to read a serial number at all, I need the program to halt, give a visible error: With this section here, the system will allow a number to be entered once only, and if the same number is scanned the user will get a warning that the number is already in the system which lock the screen until a required person unlock it , but when you say if the scanner was not able to ready a serial number at all that would mean it has not been entered before, which would require that it get added. Is that what you were trying say or something else? The reason for this question here is because, if a number is not in the system, it will return nothing which is not an error, please clarify this for me.
