I am a engineer working for a company and I have been trying to learn matlab and work out some problems to get a promotion and I have been stuck on this problem unfortunately I have a 9-5 and cannot try to figure this out [url removed, login to view] is a very simple Matlab program. Just reading in data from 2 different files (controllers). Depending on which controller is used different equations will be used to produce the output. Any equations can be found online or I can look them up as well. Also I will attach sample output that should be expected. Involves creating a graph, using ginput (not necessary) or some method to read data from the graph then preform calculations.
This code will need to read in raw mechanical testing data (force and displacement) form either tester that we have (the output files from each are slightly different), calculate mechanical properties of the structure and also at the material level. The Matlab code that is able to read in raw force and displacement data from the mechanical testing system and raw geometric properties, convert force and displacement to stress and strain and calculate parameters of interest. Please familiarize yourself with the concepts of mechanical testing included in the background and how to properly convert force and displacement to stress and strain. I will attach the 2 R and Q files that need to be read in.

a. Forces in N (yield, ultimate, failure)
b. Displacement in µm (yield, post-yield and total)
c. Stiffness in N/mm
d. Work in mJ (yield, post-yield and total)
e. Stress in MPa (yield, ultimate, failure)
f. Strain in µ? (yield, post-yield and total)
g. Modulus in GPa
h. Toughness in MPa (yield and total)
If you read through the Supplemental file attached, you should find what you need for equations and how to calculate the different parameters please read this it involves how to get the different values from the graphs and the equations needed please read it all there is some irrelevant information since its from a university however ALL the information needed to make the calculations is there. In addition, you will need the following dimensions of the tube that was tested in tension:
Outer Diameter = 4 mm
thickness = 0.35 mm
Length = 20 mm
The mechanics Exemplar is the final output. R and Q cart are the data that need to be read in and graphed and calculated. Supplement file attached too.
