The buyer is a German internet service provider currently building a hosted web security solution. Currently the buyer is using SQUID with it’s build in ICAP support to delegate HTTP filtering tasks to specific remote services (Anti Virus, content filtering, etc.) and wants to switch from SQUID to NGINX.
This project is about building a custom NGNIX module which enables NGNIX itself to function as an ICAP client. The goal is to hand over data within a proxy request to attached services in order to filter or to process them. To achieve this an ICAP client has to be implemented as specified in the RCF 3507 ([url removed, login to view]) using the ICAP protocol.
