Construct a New Encryption Scheme Supporting Range Queries on Encrypted Database

We are going to create Oracle extensible index(domain index) to use range queries such as ">, >=, <, <=, between, order by".

Our DB encryption solution encrypts data of Oracle using standard encryption algorithms like ARIA, AES, DES. Once column data in Oracle are encrypted, it's impossible to use range queries with plain original data. So we need extensible index to make it possible.

When the traditional encryption algorithms are applied to the database, efficiency degradation occurs because the orders of ciphertext and plaintext are not the same. Therefore, the encryption mechanisms suitable for database environment are required. We need an encryption mechanism that can support range queries without exposing the order of plaintext. A method is expected to handle data efficiently.

There are several ways to implement this requirement, like using B+ tree etc.

Critical elements are indexing performance and preciseness of data, data loss is not allowed.

Please let me know about your approach to figure it out.

Someone who has similar development experience is prefered.
