OBJECTION: distribute multiple software files in 1 package, install the package via webpage/activex.
notes on what the program should do.
1. Install software from partner companys, ex. my program will bundle 2 or more executables from other market research companys,
when my program is installed it installs these other programs at the same time without the user knowing it.
2. make the program download these bundled software packages from my webserver,
make the program read a text file on the server which has a list of software files to download and install.

then all i have to do is edit this file and upload an exe file to my server if i want to add more programs inside the distribution package.!
3. Log the installers IP + Time of install(mysql), also i want this to be so i can pay affiliates to distribute this application.
so in the mysql u would need a field for affiliate id that is installing the software, which would be parsed thru the web browser during the installation,
i can create PHP scripts for the web frontend of it(viewing daily stats etc).
that pretty much sums it up, there is however a couple of tiny things i want the program itself to do besides installing
other peoples software, and these things are:
1. change users homepage to my search engine page.
2. create a button in the toolbar when clicked takes the user to my website.
3. i don't want the program listed in "My Programs" list. i want the user to download an uninstaller from my website.
4. check whether the application is installed in client machine or not, if not it downloads from the server and installs.
5. use a digital signing certificate(thawte/versign), i will provide the certificate so its in my own companys name.
6. compatible with Windows ME, 98, 2000, and XP.
7. the final installer should be small in size.
i would expect complete source code for the program & 100% ownership/rights of the program,
also i would like to have good communication with the programmer working on my project so i can get updates made to the program anytime needed.
