XNA terrain

i have a Fbx File whit a Texture

that is an island that needs to be

Converted to a Terrain that

a character can walk on

The pic provided is a top view 2d image but i do have the 3d mesh with texture

the terrain model is about 1.5 million tris

and this will be a big big map

so you will need to figure out how to load the terrain without effecting frame rate , or figure out how to load parts of the maps also make it so that a character can walk on it

and finely i will need to be able to load trees, grass, and other models thought the terrain

the character looks like this

i already have the code where the character walks around in xna

i need to see prior examples of something similar or i need to have a pm relevant to this project all copy past responses will be ignored
