Job Description:
We run a boutique structural engineering firm in New Zealand, where we currently require the services of structural CAD technician/draftsman to work on a project by project basis. This will be ongoing role for the right candidate.
Position Summary:
The Structural CAD Drafter will be responsible for producing detailed structural engineering drawings for a variety of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of New Zealand/Australian building codes and construction techniques, as well as experience using CAD software to create accurate and detailed structural drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce detailed structural engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Review and interpret architectural and engineering plans to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with project engineer to ensure that all drawings are accurate and meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with other members of the design team to ensure that all drawings are consistent and meet project deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records and files of all drawings and project documentation.
Qualifications:
• Experience using CAD software to create structural engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of New Zealand/Australian building codes and construction techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and detailed drawings.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and meet project deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with other members of the design team.
• Qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field
