This problem is that I have students that submit their coursework to our server via the web therefore, there should be a way to manage lots of documents and pictures so that a folder/directory will won’t be overburdened. Hence my requirements are
A student will submit their document (word) to a directory via a web interface into a folder called Folder1, then If another student want to submit his/her document, a function will check whether folder1 is greater than 10 and greater than 10 files, if it is less than 10 files and 10megabyte, it will save the file in folder1 and send the folder name and filename as a link to access database. else if the folder is greater than 10mb AND 10 files another folder will be created on the file and so on, remember the system should be able to know the current folder to save the file to .hence in the access database I will have 3 column name, filename, and folder name.
Student uploads document ([login to view URL])
Find current folder
If no current folder THEN create a new one called folder1
Current Folder = Folder1
If Current Folder < 10mb and < 10 files
Save [login to view URL] to Folder1
Current Folder = Folder1
Else
Create a new Folder called Folder2
If Folder2 < 10mb and < 10 files
Save [login to view URL] to Folder 2
End If
Current Folder = Folder2
End If
In the database, I will have
Name Filename Folder Name
John [login to view URL] Folder1
Ajma [login to view URL] Folder 3
AND SO ON
Amrit [login to view URL] Folder600
