Please, no companies or consulting agencies. I only want to speak with the individual who would performing the actual work.
I have a consulting firm (going on its 10th year) with many large and small clients who need ongoing programming work. Currently there is myself and 3 other talented programmers.
Ideally I would like to work with a freelancer who can devote a good chunk of his or her week to my projects and will generally be available throughout the day. I'm willing to work with odd schedules, but under no circumstances do I want a moonlighter or someone that has a heavy contractual commitment to other client(s).
ASP and SQL Server are a must. We also have a lot of .NET projects, and use Crystal Reports alot. Additionally, there are occasions for VBA type work.
Depending on your personality, you might deal directly with my clients, but I will be involved in every project and will support your environmental needs. Generally, I will be talking to you on a daily basis.
That said, I do not want someone who is a novice, and I don't want to hold anyone's hand. Common sense is a must. This is a business we are running and not a programming school. You can make a lot of money, but I need someone who knows how to balance being a programming with being a person.
