52064 Recommend This Article Fnction

I would like a "recommend this story" functionality similar to that found on this page: [login to view URL] (see under the news story for the stars). It allows readers to rate the current story, records the information and the star rating, calculates the new average and displays the stars. It also links to a page that lists the most highly rated articles from top to bottom. * The function should include all the functions necessary for this to be plug and play in my template with the inclusion of an asp include file. * It should include a "Your Recommendation" of one to five stars and record and remember the vote on a particular page to prevent abuse of multiple votes. * It should include a "Average" star rating (with mouseover with the exact number to one significant figure) and show the number of votes. * It should have a link to "Recommended Articles" that shows the top rated articles. * It should have an administrator interface that allows me to delete, edit, add, modify, etc. anything. * The user interface should be clean, clear and crisp for both the functionality seen on the articles, as well as the administrator interface. * This project should be coded in ASP classic only (VB script) without any components. * This project should use a Microsoft SQL database as the backend and you should provide the script to create the tables necessary to support this project (so I can execute them and have the tables built automatically). * All articles will be in the library/content/[login to view URL] directory, but I would like to record the full URL *AND* the filename as two separate columns in the database. This is becuase the same article may be displayed on more than one domain, but I'd like to see the total for the [login to view URL] and the total for the domain (from the full URL). * The recording of the stars should be via JavaScript or similar so the web page doesn't have to reload to record the rating. I'm not sure how Yahoo does this. I think that [login to view URL] does a similar rating system and function. * You need to supply everything, including the graphics. * It should be sized approximately the same size as the Yahoo one, but if you think it looks better to display it differently I'd appreciate seeing your suggestion. I reserve the right, however, to ask for it to look similar to the Yahoo one if it isn't more clear. I am looking for a flexible company or freelancer who has experience in this field, and if this project goes well I will use you in the future for more work. Please do not bid if you do not have any experience in this area, or you cannot complete this project in a few days. I will need to see references or you will not even be considered. Please give me any info you have as I am looking to start discussing this on the PMB. This should be a pretty easy script to program. Recording the data quickly and preventing abuse will be keys to its success. Solution must be compliant on most browsers. On browsers where it doesn't work, nothing should be displayed (in other words, do not give people the option to vote if we can't record their vote). Must see on a development server or be provided with files for testing. Full payment upon acceptance after installation on my server.
