Rather than a long-winded pitch, I present to you a sample of my writing.
Few people would believe that the Internet was initially invented so scientists at different universities could share their research. The web has become far more advanced over the past 20 years, and it's even threatening television's dominance as the king of advertising. Smaller companies prefer to advertise online, because it's more affordable and in some cases it's more effective. Unfortunately, the most popular form of web advertising (Adobe Flash) has also been marked for death by other juggernauts of the industry.
A Flash from the Past
For many years, the only way to stream videos across the web was to use a browser equipped with Adobe Flash. In fact, most advanced graphics on websites once utilized Adobe Flash. Flash was the basis for adds, games and streaming music, but this program may not be around in the immediate future. Microsoft's web browser Internet Explorer will still permit all flash content to run, but faster growing browsers like Firefox and Google Chrome have announced they will disable non-essential flash content. Videos will still automatically stream, but some aspects (such as Flash advertisements) will have to be manually started. Google hasn't been as condescending as other Flash antagonists, stating battery performance as the primary reasoning for the decision.
