IT Storytelling Writer - Sample Writing Requests

Please share relevant work samples. In our search for the right writer for the job, we are awarding a sample writing project to those writers we'd like to explore further. For this assignment, we would like two blogs written to meet our objectives. One blog is based on a specific topic and the other was previously written, but did not meet our standards. FOr the second one, rather than simply editing the existing content, we are looking for you to create an entirely new perspective and rewrites that approach the topics differently while maintaining the core subject matter. Our audience for these blogs is primarily IT leaders within the IT recruitment and workforce solutions space. We are looking for content that engages them through compelling storytelling while remaining educational, practical, and genuinely helpful. Content Expectations Each blog should: Be approximately 800–900 words. Answer a specific question relevant to the target audience. Include a brief SEO summary at the beginning (2–3 short sentences) that captures the essence of the article. Use engaging storytelling to draw readers into the topic. Be educational and practical rather than sales-led. Help readers understand the challenge or opportunity before introducing potential solutions. Include relevant internal links where appropriate. End with a natural, organic call to action that feels like a logical next step for the reader rather than a sales pitch. Writing Style Guidelines Please keep the tone: Educational Practical Professional Conversational and accessible In particular: Avoid exclusionary or insider language. If industry-specific terminology is necessary, briefly explain it. Use a healthy mix of full paragraphs and bullet points to maintain reader engagement. Avoid overly short, fragmented paragraphs unless a specific point warrants emphasis. Summarize only when it adds value to the reader experience. Important Note About One of the Blogs One of the blogs was originally intended to be written from the perspective of our Chief Information Officer (CIO). As a result, we would expect that article to read somewhat differently than the other piece, reflecting the perspective, experience, and strategic viewpoint of a technology executive rather than a general industry commentator. We will be evaluating submissions based on: Ability to capture the intended voice and audience Quality of storytelling and reader engagement Alignment with the content guidelines mentioned above Timeliness of delivery Overall fit for our long-term content strategy Blog 1: AI in IT Operations:3 high-ROI use cases and the readiness gaps behind them.
