I had to remove the previous project because I described it too vaguely and there were many inquiries. I have such a problem, namely I would like to go straight from point A to point B with my boat. The boat is steered by two engines. I have tried many things but unfortunately I am too weak to comprehend it. The boat is flowing like a sine wave ([login to view URL]). I am looking for a person who would help me understand how to correctly calculate the data for the boat to go straight, i.e. the shortest route between points A and B. The code in Arduino is enough for me. Any platform: Arduino, STM32, ESP32 The current code that I use for testing is attached. [login to view URL] I tried to use the compass, the boat hits the target perfectly but unfortunately it flows in a curve ([login to view URL]) I have time to complete the project by October.

Hi If you can use GPS instead of compass it could correct the course immediately and stay in the course (as in the GPS accuracy) as it will correct not in by large portion like a compass (even a degree is quite large difference) The deadline is October but even with pessimistic approach it would take only 2 weeks. Hi! There are different approaches to get from point A to point B using different navigation sistems, it depends on the distance between the target points and the circumstances during the way. If everything is automated to control the engines and keep the mooving straight forward as much as possible some pid controller may be applied with properly calculated and selected coefficients which are depending on lots of factors. To understand more your project I would suggest to discuss them over chat if you can find some free time for this. I can make you the code in Arduino, so you can use an Arduino board or ESP32 board to run the code. Hello, i'm Kit I noticed you're using final GPS coordinates as your reference heading. Here's my suggestion, why don't your generate a trajectory (straight-line is preferred unless there's any obstacle) per step time? That way you will improve your heading error and that would increase the sensitivity For further improvement, you can implement future state observer to compensate the over-steer once the boat is heading to the right track after correction. That way, the boat's motion will be less oscillatory Let's have a chat Best regards
