Image of Boethius to one side
Image of an ancient scroll on opposite side
As a narrator gives an intro and lists important facts; simultaneously what the voice says will appear on the scroll in an easy to read font
Image of the book The Consolation of Philosophy
Image of a book appears. On the cover is a middle aged man. He looks very tired, has thinning gray hair, his back is slightly hunched, and he is sitting at a small wood desk cluttered with papers and books.
He is looking at a full length mirror to the right of the desk
In the mirror, a tall woman can be seen. Her appearance is that of a woman in her thirties, dark, long hair, blue eyes, and a warm comforting expression.
The book opens while a narrator gives important information on The Consolation of Philosophy. At the same time the voice’s appear on the book’s page as if the book is writing itself and once a page is full of information written in an easy to read font, the page turns and the voice’s words continue to appear. Once all the information has been spoken and written, the book closes.
Image of Boethius on a roller coaster
Perspective changes to show Boethius perspective, his surroundings
The roller coaster begins to move
A narrator will list key moments in Boethius’ life
For the positive moments, the roller coaster will be seen climbing upwards
For the negative moments, the roller coaster will appear to be plummeting downward
Depending on whether the roller coaster is ascending or descending, appropriate roller coaster sounds will be heard
Next the image will pull outward (zoom out); the roller coaster will begin to curve until it forms a circle. It will look like Boethius’ wheel of fortune with four images of Boethius surrounding it. (Examples on Google)
One image will be Boethius sitting atop the wheel wearing a golden crown and holding a gold staff in his right hand
The second image will be quarter down (around 3 on a clock) on the right side of the wheel with no staff but with the golden crown, leaning forward as if off balance or falling
The third will be at the bottom of the wheel with him upside down, crown a few inches off his head as if it just fell off
The fourth image of Boethius will not have a staff or a crown, but he will be upright and from his position on the left side of the wheel (a quarter down from the top, around 9 o’clock), halfway up his gaze upward toward the top image of him wearing the golden crown and holding the golden staff
Same image of scene one of Boethius to one side and an ancient scroll on the opposite side
Narrator will list interesting facts while at the same time the narrator’s words appear on the ancient scroll
Image of an ancient scroll. Narrator reads “Presentation for English 4515 Lecture Chaucer; Research and script by Nicole Birenbaum Animated Short by Samira A.” as the information appears as if they were end movie credits.
Important Note - I will send the text for the narrator tomorrow evening.
