Overview:
We are seeking experienced freelancers who can assist us in setting up a Domain Controller on an Amazon Web Instance (AWS) and establishing a secure site-to-site VPN tunnel to link it with our network. This project is of utmost urgency due to critical issues with our existing Domain Controller and the need to migrate users to the AWS-hosted solution.
Background:
Our organization currently relies on a single Domain Controller server, which has encountered persistent issues, including being stuck in a continuous loop. In light of this situation, we have deployed a secondary Domain Controller to serve as a backup in the event of hardware failures. However, to enhance reliability and performance, we have decided to migrate our user base to a Domain Controller hosted on AWS.
Project Objectives:
Set up a Domain Controller on an Amazon Web Instance.
Migrate user accounts, profiles, and data from the existing Domain Controller to the AWS-hosted Domain Controller.
Establish a secure site-to-site VPN tunnel connecting the AWS-hosted Domain Controller with our branches and HQ.
Ensure seamless connectivity for users to the AWS-hosted Domain Controller via the VPN.
Key Tasks:
AWS Setup:
Create and configure an Amazon Web Instance for hosting the Domain Controller.
Install and configure the Windows Server operating system on the AWS instance.
Set up the Domain Controller role with Active Directory services.
Data Migration:
Safely transfer user accounts, profiles, and data from the existing Domain Controller to the AWS-hosted Domain Controller.
Site-to-Site VPN Configuration:
Configure a secure site-to-site VPN tunnel between AWS and our network infrastructure (branches and HQ).
Ensure proper routing and firewall rules to facilitate secure communication.
Testing and Documentation:
Thoroughly test the setup to ensure seamless connectivity and data access for all users.
Provide detailed documentation on the setup, configurations, and maintenance procedures.
Project Timeline:
This project is of high urgency, and we require immediate initiation and swift completion. The timeline for this project will be discussed and agreed upon with the selected freelancer.
Requirements:
Expertise in AWS infrastructure setup and configuration.
Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and domain migration.
Experience in configuring secure site-to-site VPN tunnels.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
