Several months ago I paid a Chinese design house to create a small two-layer PCBA. Because I chose not to let them handle production, they stripped the entire bottom copper layer out of the Gerber set and polluted the BOM with wrong part numbers before handing the files back. What I can supply • A single .zip that contains the sabotaged Gerbers (.gbr) and the altered .csv BOM. • High-resolution photos of two original prototypes (they power up, but I damaged pads while desoldering parts for identification). • A partial list of components I have already confirmed. What I need from you 1. Reconstruct or redraw the missing bottom copper layer so the board is once again production-ready. 2. Audit and correct the BOM, matching it to the photos and the partial list I provide. 3. Return a clean, manufacturable package: fixed Gerber set, corrected BOM, and—if you use KiCad, Altium Designer, or Eagle—the project source files so I can do future revisions myself. Acceptance I’ll consider the job complete when JLCPCB’s online viewer loads the full board with no DRC errors and each BOM line maps to a real, orderable part. If this sounds straightforward for you and you can keep the cost sensible, let’s talk—the sooner I can send this board to fab, the better.

Hi, I’m a senior PCB and reverse-engineering engineer with extensive experience recovering incomplete PCB designs, rebuilding Gerber data, correcting BOMs, and preparing boards for production through JLCPCB/PCBWay workflows. I have reconstructed multiple damaged or partially missing PCB projects including multilayer embedded boards, power electronics, RF modules, and compact mixed-signal designs using KiCad and Altium. Approach: ✅ I will analyse the supplied Gerbers, prototype photos, and confirmed component data to reconstruct the missing bottom copper layer and restore full PCB connectivity. ✅ I will reverse-map footprints, trace routing, vias, and net relationships to generate a clean manufacturable PCB layout with proper DRC validation and fabrication compatibility. ✅ I will audit and correct the BOM by matching physical components, package markings, footprints, and circuit functionality against real orderable manufacturer parts. ✅ I will deliver corrected Gerbers, validated BOM, and editable KiCad/Altium project files ready for direct upload to JLCPCB without fabrication or assembly errors. Questions: ✅ Approximately how many components and what board dimensions are involved in the design? ✅ Do the prototype photos clearly show both PCB sides and component markings for IC identification? ✅ Would you prefer the board recreated in KiCad or Altium for future revision work? Best, Yaroslav

Dear Client, This project needs someone who can accurately reconstruct a damaged PCB design and return it in a fully manufacturable form. That means the Gerbers, copper layers, footprints, BOM, and source files all need to align cleanly so the board can move back into production without repeated troubleshooting or guesswork. I can support the reconstruction process from analysis through production-ready release. My approach would be: ✅ analyze the supplied Gerbers and identify missing or corrupted copper data ✅ reconstruct/redraw the missing bottom copper layer from the existing files, photos, and continuity logic ✅ audit and correct the BOM against board photos and confirmed components ✅ recreate clean source files in KiCad / Altium / Eagle for future maintainability ✅ run DRC/ERC validation and prepare fabrication-ready outputs for JLCPCB or equivalent fabs The goal would be a clean production package that can go directly to fabrication without further reverse-engineering or clarification. Two things I would confirm first: 1. Do you know the original PCB dimensions and layer stack-up, or should those be verified from the Gerbers/photos? 2. Are both prototype boards electrically functional enough for continuity tracing and component validation if required? If you message me, I can suggest the cleanest workflow for reconstructing the board and validating the recovered design before fabrication. Best regards, Prat PCB Must Innovations

✨ Hi, I can repair the sabotaged PCB manufacturing package by reconstructing the missing bottom copper layer, auditing the BOM against prototype photos, and preparing a clean file set ready for JLCPCB review. I have experience with PCB reverse engineering, Gerber repair, KiCad/Altium reconstruction, BOM validation, component identification from board photos, two-layer PCB layout, DRC/manufacturability checks, and preparing production files for board houses. My first step would be to inspect the Gerbers in a viewer, compare the top layer, drills, silkscreen, solder mask, prototype photos, and partial component list, then rebuild the missing bottom routing logically from pads, vias, nets, and visible traces. For the BOM, I’ll verify each line against the photos and your confirmed parts, replace wrong part numbers with real orderable alternatives, and flag anything uncertain before finalizing. I’ll return fixed Gerbers, drill files, corrected BOM, and editable KiCad/Altium source files if reconstruction is done in a CAD tool. I’ll also test the final output in a JLCPCB-style viewer and provide a short repair note so you can revise the board later without relying on the original design house. Best regards Ankit ✨

Hello, This project appears to be a PCB reverse-engineering and recovery task rather than a simple PCB edit, and I am comfortable handling that process. Based on your description, the primary challenges are reconstructing the missing bottom copper layer, verifying the electrical connectivity through the existing Gerbers and vias, and correcting the intentionally altered BOM. Using the supplied Gerber files, prototype photographs, and confirmed component list, I can rebuild the missing routing, identify component footprints and values, and generate a clean manufacturing package suitable for production. My workflow would include: • Analysis of the existing Gerber layers and via connectivity • Reconstruction of the missing bottom copper layer • BOM audit and correction against PCB footprints and board photos • DRC and manufacturability review for JLCPCB • Delivery of corrected Gerbers, BOM, and project source files (KiCad/Altium, depending on reconstruction requirements) Before final delivery, I will verify that the design loads correctly in the JLCPCB viewer and that all BOM entries correspond to valid, orderable components. I would be happy to review the ZIP package and provide an assessment of the reconstruction effort. Best regards Jude.

Hi, You need to restore a two-layer PCBA and correct the BOM to ensure it's ready for production. The challenge of reconstructing the missing bottom copper layer is crucial, as any inaccuracies could lead to manufacturing errors or functionality issues down the line. Given your requirements, I will focus on ensuring that the Gerber files are not only correct but also compliant with JLCPCB's specifications to avoid DRC errors. I have experience with similar PCB restoration projects, where I successfully redesigned flawed layouts and audited BOMs to match actual components. This involved cross-referencing original designs with physical prototypes and ensuring that all parts were orderable and accurately reflected in the documentation. My approach emphasizes meticulous attention to detail, which is essential in verifying the integrity of both the Gerbers and the BOM. To tackle your project, I would first analyze the provided Gerber files and photos to determine the exact specifications needed for the bottom layer. I would then reconstruct the layer using KiCad, ensuring it matches the original design as closely as possible. Alongside this, I will perform a thorough audit of the BOM, validating each line item against your partial list and the photos you provided. My goal is to deliver a complete and manufacturable package that meets your expectations and can be easily modified for future revisions. Thank you, Affan Qureshi
