Many AI language projects fail not because of lack of data, but because annotations drift—inconsistent guidelines, variable audio quality and unclear deliverables create downstream model noise. I focus on preventing that up front. My approach is to run a small paid qualification task, deliver clear style guides with examples, then use a two-pass workflow (annotator + reviewer) with ASR-assisted pre-transcripts to speed throughput while keeping human quality. Deliverables include time-stamped transcripts/captions, confidence scores, and flagged ambiguous segments. For implementation I recommend a lightweight stack: React (browser recording/WebRTC) or Label Studio for annotation, Django REST + PostgreSQL backend, S3 for audio, and Whisper/WhisperX (or custom ASR) for pre-transcription. Use WAV/48k or 44.1k lossless for voice work and standard SRT/CSV/JSON outputs.
