I have a small two-piece case—a lid and a lower body—that both present A and B cosmetic sides. The goal is to define an efficient composite laminate schedule and verify its structural integrity through finite-element analysis. Both visible faces must end up with a high-gloss finish, so ply orientations, edge treatments, and any core breaks need to respect that surface requirement. Here’s how I see the work flowing: I have a lay-up in mind but need to look at various options for plies, core, etc.(materials, ply count, orientation, any core or local reinforcements) and back it up with an FEA simulation that demonstrates the case can handle abuse..I want to be able to take this thing out to a field and see exactly what it takes to destroy it. I also want to use graphene as an additive in the resin. I have a supplier that is already using his material in body armor with great success. Deliverables • Laminate stack-up drawing or table, ready for tooling • FEA model and report: boundary conditions, load cases, results, safety factors Native files from tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar are fine—whatever you are most comfortable with as long as I can review geometry and results. Once I sign off on the laminate and the analysis meets the agreed acceptance criteria (no critical areas below a safety factor of 1.5), we’re done. I’m ready to start as soon as you are.

Hi, I can help develop and validate the composite laminate for your two-piece case using practical structural engineering and FEA methods. I can review your proposed layup and evaluate different materials, ply counts, orientations, core options, and local reinforcements to achieve the best balance of strength, weight, and manufacturability. I’ll build the FEA model with appropriate orthotropic composite material properties, realistic boundary conditions, contacts, and abuse/load cases. The analysis will identify critical stress, strain, and failure areas and allow us to refine the laminate where required. I can also incorporate the graphene resin using verified supplier material data rather than making unsupported assumptions. The final deliverables will include the laminate schedule, FEA results, safety factors, and a concise engineering report. I’m available to start immediately and can review your existing CAD and material information first. Best regards, Subodh

Hello, I am Muhammad Javed, a Mechanical Engineer with more than 10 years of experience in composite product design, laminate development, and finite-element analysis. I can help develop an efficient composite laminate schedule for your two-piece case, considering the A/B cosmetic surfaces, high-gloss finish requirements, ply orientations, core configuration, edge treatments, and local reinforcements. I can evaluate different material combinations, ply counts, orientations, and core options to balance strength, weight, manufacturability, and surface quality. I can also build the FEA model and evaluate realistic abuse load cases, including appropriate boundary conditions, material definitions, contact assumptions, and failure criteria. The analysis will identify critical stress/strain areas and provide safety factors, with the agreed acceptance target of no critical region below 1.5. Regarding the graphene-modified resin, I can incorporate the supplier's available material properties into the analysis rather than assuming generic performance data, so the simulation remains traceable to the actual material system. Deliverables will include a tooling-ready laminate stack-up drawing/table, native FEA model, and a clear report covering assumptions, load cases, results, critical areas, and safety factors. Please provide the case geometry, dimensions, intended materials, supplier graphene-resin data, and expected abuse/load scenarios so I can begin.

As a solidworks enthusiast with experience in various design and simulation tools like CATIA, ANSYS and Abaqus, I am confident that I can bring valuable insights to your composite case laminate project. Contrary to merely generating a laminate schedule via trial and error, I understand that this project calls for the identification of the most efficient materials, ply counts, edge treatments, core breaks and ply orientations, assuring both structural integrity and high-gloss finishes. My background goes beyond design; I have also worked in interior and exterior designing where precision is valued. So selecting and evaluating laminates and conducting FEA simulations aligns perfectly with my past experiences. Moreover, your interest in using graphene as an additive resonated with me as well. I bring knowledge from multiple fields including 3D printing models to make robust decisions.

The key risk here is not simply getting a safety factor above 1.5-it is making sure the laminate fails in the model for the same physical reasons it would fail in the field. That means the lay-up, core transitions, local reinforcements, contacts, and failure criteria all need to be treated consistently with the cosmetic A/B surface requirements. I have direct experience with composite housings/cases, orthotropic material modeling, core crushing and face-sheet failure, local reinforcement around holes/inserts/hinges/fasteners, delamination/cohesive interfaces, contact, and impact/drop loading. I have also performed ANSYS/Abaqus composite FEA using criteria such as Hashin and Tsai-Wu. I would first compare a small set of practical laminate/core options, then validate the selected configuration under the agreed abuse cases and report the critical failure indices, deformation, and safety margin. For the graphene-modified resin, I would use the supplier’s measured material data rather than assume generic property improvements. Please send the case geometry, your current lay-up concept, and the graphene/resin material data; I can review the first laminate options immediately.

I can help develop and validate an efficient composite laminate schedule for your two-piece case, balancing structural performance, manufacturability, weight, and the high-gloss requirements of both cosmetic A/B surfaces. Rather than assuming one lay-up, I’ll compare practical options for material selection, ply count, orientations, core configurations, edge treatments, and local reinforcements, including the proposed graphene/resin system based on the supplier’s available material data. I can deliver: • Optimized laminate stack-up drawing/table ready for tooling • Ply orientations, materials, thicknesses & core details • Local reinforcement recommendations where needed • Detailed FEA model with transparent assumptions • Boundary conditions and realistic abuse/load cases • Stress, displacement and failure/safety-factor results • Identification of critical areas and recommended improvements • Final report with the agreed 1.5 minimum safety factor criterion I’ll build the analysis so the geometry, material properties, mesh, loads, constraints, and results are reviewable and reusable in ANSYS, Abaqus, SolidWorks, or a comparable engineering platform. For the graphene additive, I’d want the supplier’s datasheet and verified laminate-level mechanical properties rather than assuming that body-armor performance translates directly to this application. Hello, I’m very interested in working with you on the design and FEA validation of your two-piece composite case. With my background in mechanical engineering, product design, SolidWorks, and COMSOL Multiphysics, I can help develop and evaluate an efficient laminate configuration for both the lid and lower body while keeping the A/B cosmetic surfaces and manufacturing requirements in consideration. I can evaluate different laminate options, including material selection, ply count, fiber orientations, core thickness/material, local reinforcements, and ply termination/edge treatments. I will then build the selected configuration into an FEA model and evaluate the case under the agreed load cases, including severe/abuse loading scenarios. The analysis will include appropriate boundary conditions, stress and strain results, deformation, critical areas, incl. safety factors of 1.5. Assuming you will supply me CAD ready model. I also understand that the high-gloss A and B surfaces are an important part of the design. Therefore, the laminate schedule will be developed with the cosmetic surfaces, ply orientations, edge treatments, and core, with graphene additive available material. For the final deliverables, I can provide a clear laminate stack-up table/drawing suitable for review and tooling, For supply native FEA model an extra charges of 250$ is required. Best regards, Sincerely your, Eng. Omar
