Operating System: Windows 10
Description: To select files in a folder in accordance to a given start time, end time and interval and then place these files in a new folder
Background: There are about 1,200 images in a folder. The images are part of a time lapse sequence and are about 30 seconds apart. Each image has a time stamp (Date Taken) and the images were taken for around 12 hours from sunset to sunrise. The images are sorted by “Date Taken” – from first to last.
Task: Write a user friendly script for Windows 10 where I can select files and place them in a new folder as follows:
1. Specify the start time (Date taken start time e.g. 6:26 pm on May 1st)
2. Specify the end time (Date taken end time e.g. 5.31 am on May 2nd)
3. Specify the time interval in seconds between two images to be selected e.g. 300s. In this case the next image would then be at [url removed, login to view] + 300s (5 min) = 6.31pm. If there are 2 images with the same time stamp in minutes (e.g. 6:31:05 and 6:35:35), then ONLY the first image shall be chosen. The next image thereafter is [url removed, login to view] etc… all the way until the end time.
4. Specify a new folder with a name to be chosen by the user where the images are to be copied and placed
NOTE: Verify that this task is actually possible in Windows 10 BEFORE you accept the task. Read carefully through the specs and communicate if there are changes to be made BEFORE accepting the task. Changes should be first agreed and accepted by me. Accepting the task without feedback implies that it can be executed as specified.
