I’ve finished preparing a 3D character and now need it prepared for printing. The final figure will stand around 10 inches tall and I’ll be running it on typical FDM machines with PLA or PETG, so clean seams and sensible tolerances are essential. What I need from you: • Break the model into logical, printable sections, and each color to be seperatly, legs, arms, palms, belly, (each color to be separate to print alone). • Add sturdy keyed connectors or peg-and-socket plugs so the parts snap together accurately after printing. • Hide cut lines along natural folds or costume seams to keep post-processing minimal. • Check wall thickness and overhangs, making minor fixes where required for PLA/PETG. • Supply the final, labelled STL set plus the editable source (Blend, ZTL, or STEP—whatever you work in). A simple diagram or screenshot sheet showing assembly order would be helpful. Clearances of roughly 0.2 mm between male and female features usually work for my printers, but I’m open to your experience if you’ve found a better value.

Hello! I understand you're looking to split a 3D character into printable sections, ensuring each part can be printed separately, with added connectors for easy assembly and minimal post-processing. With my experience in CAD/CAM and 3D modeling, particularly using Solidworks and Blender, I can effectively break down your model into logical sections, while implementing sturdy keyed connectors and ensuring optimal wall thickness and overhangs for PLA/PETG. My approach will involve analyzing the model for natural seams to hide cut lines, and carefully designing connectors that facilitate accurate assembly post-printing. I will provide a clear, labeled STL file set along with the editable source and a screenshot sheet detailing the assembly order for easier referencing. Please do check out my profile for project reviews and portfolio at: https://www.freelancer.com/u/umaranimators "I would love to discuss your project in more detail and share ideas to make it a success. Hi there, I went through your project carefully, and the core challenge is clear: ensuring a seamless 3D printing experience by breaking the model into logical sections with precise connectors. This isn’t a surface-level task , it needs someone who understands 3D design intricacies and can execute without hand-holding. I’ve handled similar projects where clean seams and optimal tolerances mattered. My approach is straightforward: I’ll segment the model for easy assembly, incorporate keyed connectors, and ensure the cut lines remain discreet. With expertise in Blender and CAD tools, I will verify that wall thickness and overhangs align with your FDM printing needs. If this aligns, I can start immediately and deliver the complete STL set along with a detailed assembly guide within 5 days. One quick question before I proceed: how should I manage the color scheme for the different sections? Best regards, Muskan
