Architectural design assignment - we prefer a Japanese architect
We would like to contact you and ask for a request to create an interior architectural design of our stone village house, respectively the part of it that we have created as a new living space from a reconstructed barn space. This space is basically connected with the house by two separate entrances, above each other, as you can see either on enclosed photos or drawings.
The original house is made of stone from the ground up, it has a newly made roof and the entire interior.
Everything is evident from the attached 3D models and construction drawings.
* Material already installed in old house: stone – flooring. Woods, cast iron and glass
* Material we have already bought to be installed:
Wood for an exterior cladding (Shou Sugi Ban wood) - [login to view URL]
* Material or equipment we intend to use – this is an open matter to be discussed or change
Floor pavement - [login to view URL]
(There is an idea to use floor heating system)
Heating (stoves)[login to view URL]
Cast iron stairs - [login to view URL]
Sitting sofa – Gamma Arredamente (Italy) - [login to view URL]
We prefer to preserve these materials for furnishing the barn, however this requirement is not strict. Our initial idea of the interior layout is presented in the enclosure as well, but we are not convinced that this is the best solution.
Our wish is to bring the idea of Japanese detail into perceiving the space. We don't want to stylize ourselves in the overall Japanese concept, but just to apply design details here, either in construction or equipment.
We love to spend time together, sitting and talking with our 2 adult sons, drinking tea, cooking and dining together. Therefore, the concept of the barn space includes the combination of the kitchen as an open food preparation area, a large table and wide sitting sofa.
We think you can advise us and look at barn space with new fresh vision. Thank you
Tom and Eva
