We are looking for a freelance nTopology specialist for long-term technical collaboration. At Additium3D, we work continuously with industrial clients who provide over-engineered or non-optimized parts for plastic powder 3D printing (MJF / SLS). Our goal is to redesign these parts using topology optimization and functional lattice structures, reducing weight and cost while maintaining or improving mechanical performance. What we are looking for A technical profile with proven, hands-on experience using nTopology (mandatory), capable of taking existing CAD parts (STEP files) and transforming them into manufacturable, performance-driven designs for plastic powder additive manufacturing. We are not looking for aesthetic concepts, but for engineering-grade, production-ready designs. The work will involve: – Starting from existing plastic parts provided by us. – Applying topology optimization based on loads, constraints, and no-design zones. – Designing skin + lattice or lattice-based structures where technically justified. – Delivering geometries ready for production (STL / STEP), specifically designed for plastic MJF / SLS printing. – Iterating designs based on manufacturing, cost, and performance feedback. Key conditions – nTopology is mandatory (not replaceable by other software). – Ongoing, long-term collaboration (not a one-off project). – Recurring workload throughout the year, depending on client projects. – Fully remote collaboration with direct and agile communication. – Compensation per project or hourly packages, depending on experience and profile. Nice to have – Experience with plastic powder AM technologies (MJF, SLS). – Strong structural judgment (knowing when lattice adds value — and when it doesn’t). – Ability to explain and justify design decisions from an engineering standpoint. – Practical mindset focused on real manufacturing constraints.
