I need a complete 3D CAD model of a pipeline-inspection robot that can reliably navigate through sewer pipes larger than 24 inches in diameter. For now, its job is movement, camera and led light, so the design must leave logical mounting points for future sensors without compromising balance or clearances. Because I will be printing the parts myself, every component has to be optimized for standard FDM printers (220 × 220 × 250 mm build volume) with minimal support material and straightforward post-processing. Think in terms of interlocking or bolted sections that can be printed flat, then assembled with off-the-shelf hardware. Deliverables • Native CAD files (Fusion or Onshape ) plus exported STEP and STL for each printable part • An exploded view or brief assembly guide showing hardware, fastener sizes, and motor placements • A short note on print orientation, infill, and any critical tolerances so the parts fit together smoothly If you have experience designing mobile platforms for tight spaces or have tackled sewer or drain robots before, that’s a big plus—I’m counting on practical design choices that keep weight low and traction high without overcomplicating the build.

Hi, I’ve reviewed the reference images and understand the requirement for a simple, reliable, tracked pipeline inspection robot designed specifically for FDM 3D printing. I will create a clean, functional CAD model optimized for standard printers (220×220×250 mm), using flat-printable, bolted sections for easy assembly and maintenance. The design will include proper motor mounting, track clearance, and dedicated mounting points for the camera, LED, and future sensors without affecting balance. Deliverables will include Fusion 360 native files, STEP and STL files, an exploded assembly view with fasteners and motor placement, and notes on print orientation, infill, and key tolerances to ensure smooth assembly. My focus is on practical, buildable design, closely aligned with your provided examples.

Hello, I’ve reviewed your pipeline-inspection robot project and I’m confident I can deliver a fully printable, assembly-ready 3D CAD design optimized for sewer pipes ≥24 inches. I’m a Mechanical Design Engineer (CSWA) with hands-on experience in robotic mechanisms, mobile platforms, and FDM-optimized design. I design parts the way they’re actually printed and assembled—not just modeled. What I’ll Deliver • Native CAD files (SolidWorks) • STEP + STL for every printable part • Exploded assembly view with motor placement & fastener sizes • Clear print + assembly notes (orientation, infill, tolerances) Design Approach • Modular, low-CG mobile platform for stability & traction • Camera + LED housing with protected field of view • Reserved mounting points for future sensors (no balance issues) • All parts fit 220×220×250 mm build volume • Flat-printable sections, minimal supports • Bolted / interlocking joints using off-the-shelf hardware • Weight-optimized using sound mechanical design principles Why Me • CSWA – Mechanical Design, Additive Manufacturing, Simulation • Experience in 3D printing, CNC machining, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups • Practical, build-ready robotics design mindset Delivery in 4 days, including revisions. Quick question: Do you already have preferred motors, wheels, or batteries, or should I design around standard off-the-shelf components? Best regards, Ahmed Mechanical Design Engineer | Robotics | 3D Printing

Hi, I read through your description, and this is exactly what I like to do for CAD. It is one thing to create a nice model, but it is quite another to create something that will actually get printed and assembled. I am a mechanical engineering student, and I have experience with 3D CAD design for printable parts. I can design the pipeline inspection robot as a modular assembly that will fit within the constraints of standard FDM printing and is easy to assemble using off-the-shelf components. I will ensure that the design has mounting points for the camera and LED, maintains good ground clearance and balance, and allows for the addition of sensors without a redesign. I can also provide an exploded view, fastener details, and basic notes on print orientation, infill, and tolerances to ensure a clean fit. If you would like, we can first agree on the overall size, wheel or track configuration, and motor location before finalizing the design. I am happy to keep things simple and light rather than over-engineered. Let me know if you would like to proceed.
