Biotech Test Device This is the first stage of a small, proof-of-concept biotech tester that fits everything on a single PCB mounted within a compact enclosure. The immediate priority is an accurate 3-D layout of the internal layout with optical paths, small heater block snd selection of specific critical components that impact the CADD layout. This is so I can confirm the design, space claims and streamline the optical path before committing to electronic design as a later stage. Design to include: • Core electronics: a low-power microcontroller, USB-C for power/basic comms, two I²C temperature sensors, two analog light sensors, four momentary buttons, a four-position DIP switch, status/power LEDs, and a 2 W resistive heater bonded to a 1 cm³ aluminum block (max 70 °C). • Outputs: 2-inch display plus the LEDs and heater. • Inputs: the sensors and buttons listed above. • Mechanics: light pipe guiding the optical path, single PCB mounting, and a simple outer shell. Im am looking for an experienced product design CADD designer working in SolidWorks or Fusion 360 to build up a the functional optical path and component layout model that places parts within an accurately defined assembly including a small heater block , snd parts mounted on a closely integrated OCB. Collaborate with regular review and comments on screen shots and images.. building up the design in iterations. Share native CADD files to assist review and records of iterations as we progress. Deliverables • Native CAD files (SolidWorks or Fusion 360 archive) of the full assembly • Share Annotated screenshots highlighting optical layout., and heater component layout for discussion and review. Approx 10 to 15 hours per week over a number of weeks. Work will be limited by review and feedback on iterations as we build up the design. Don’t expect to go off and design the whole thing in one go as there are lots of interdependencies and design constraints to resolve. Design will require time and iterations to resolve and improve. This is not a styling or product concept project. It is working on functional internal detail and building out from that.

Hi, I am pleased to submit my proposal for the first-stage development of your proof-of-concept biotech tester. My focus will be on building an accurate, function-driven 3D internal assembly that validates spatial constraints, optical alignment, and heater integration before electronics finalization. I work primarily in SolidWorks and Autodesk Fusion 360, delivering clean, parametric assemblies suitable for iterative refinement and controlled design evolution. For this phase, I will: • Create a precise PCB envelope with accurate component placement (MCU, USB-C, sensors, DIP switch, display, LEDs) • Model the 1 cm³ aluminum heater block with bonded 2 W element (70 °C max) and evaluate thermal clearances • Develop the functional optical path including light pipe geometry and sensor alignment • Validate spacing, mounting strategy, and enclosure integration • Structure the assembly to allow rapid iteration as constraints evolve I understand this is not a styling exercise but a tightly constrained functional build-up with interdependencies between optics, thermals, PCB layout, and enclosure geometry. My workflow supports weekly iterative reviews with annotated screenshots and shared native CAD files to document progress and decisions. Deliverables will include: • Native SolidWorks/Fusion archive files • Annotated screenshots highlighting optical routing and heater placement • Organized assembly structure for future electronics refinement Kind regards,

Hi, there, Thank you for outlining your vision for the Compact Bio-Tester. I appreciate your methodical, iterative approach and the focus on functional, precision-driven internal design rather than surface styling. Your need for a tightly integrated 3D CAD assembly, with careful attention to optical paths, thermal components, and PCB constraints, aligns perfectly with my expertise. ✅ Project Understanding You require an accurate, iterative 3D CADD model—using either Fusion 360 or SolidWorks—that captures all critical internal components: microcontroller, USB-C, I²C and analog sensors, momentary switches, DIP switch, LEDs, a 2W heater on a 1 cm³ aluminum block, and a display, all mounted on a single PCB within a compact shell. The model must also define the optical path with light pipes and ensure thermal/space constraints are met before moving to electronics. ✅ Approach - Begin by reviewing and mapping out all core components in the 3D environment based on your specifications and available datasheets. - Iteratively place and route optical, thermal, and electronic elements, providing annotated screenshots for your review at each step. - Use Fusion 360 for collaborative versioning, sharing native files and maintaining a clear change log for every iteration. - Prioritize functional integration and manufacturability, while allowing for rapid design changes as feedback is received. - Maintain open communication for timely review cycles, ensuring each design constraint and interdependency is addressed before progressing. ✅ Deliverables - Native Fusion 360 (or SolidWorks) assembly files, including all revisions. - Regularly annotated images focusing on the heater block, optical paths, and critical component placement for discussion. - Full documentation of changes and rationales for traceability. I can start immediately and am confident my background in mechanical design, product development, and thermal/optical CAD modeling will add value to your project. I am looking forward to working with you. Best Regards Susie Kalson.
