  It looks like you are in hurry to select candidate. Its better if you want for the contest deadline. People like me who is busy in creating your application, and it better than what you have selected.

     Bother this is contest not a project. In contest no one is giving notice to anyone. Freelancer come, read your description and submit entry. Everybody is expecting that they have 6 days to complete this application. I am thinking on flow of your application, which makes you comfortable to use it.

  Hello there, give me a day for build this simple POS system and i'll put it on my own server so you can test it.
  
  If you want to use it on iPad you need a pc/laptop on your food truck as a server (no need for internet) and connected to your own local area network or wifi(android devices can be used for portable hotspot and make sure the ipad and the server connected to that hotspot/network).
  
  I think if you print a receipt and give it to the chef is a bad idea, because it cost paper. You can put the server's monitor on the chef's workplace and when you input the customer's order the order will pop out on the chef's monitor.

     unfortunately, we haven't got room in the truck to install a monitor for the chef to cook, that is why I need to print the out. also remember that the interface has to be as simple as possible consisting of buttons with the items, input for customer name, and end of day totals. We are looking forward for your entry!

  I once had an idea to do exactly this, I had so my ideas for features that would of made it brilliant, I may do a very simple version for an entry of the contest amd maybe we could talking about the additional features further down the line? I take it you would have access to internet on the van?
