Write a storyline for a series of puzzle games

I want to make multiple mobile puzzle games, I already have a lot of ideas on the puzzles and so but I want to connect them all to a decent story, something like "Rusty Lake: Cube Escape" you can just search google play for Cube Escape and you will see their game series.
My puzzles include a lot of ancient glyphs, cryptography, and even modern cryptography, so I don't know how to connect them with a good storyline that would be interesting to the player, I also want it to be a little bit spooky but not in a Halloween kind of way, more like assassins creed storyline spooky kind of way. Play Cube Escape to get a better understanding of what I am exactly looking for, I am not in a hurry so take all the time you need, I will be talking to each entry I think could go somewhere.
For example, a theme would be ancient Egyptian civilization, the gods performed a secret ritual to endure life for eternity, they hid the secrets of these rituals in scattered places on earth. Now after thousands of years, some clues started to emerge, but these rituals are heavily guarded, etc...
The above is just a simple example of a storyline so get creative, but I want the theme to be ancient Egyptian Civilization with queens and mummies and those sorts of things.
1. Do you need dialogues and will there be multiple characters?
A. Yes, it creates an environment of interaction for the player and suspense as well.
2. Do you approve of time-travel?
A. No, I don't want any time travel in the story. The story though might be played in different time-lines but NOT time travel and it MUST serve the main plot-twist
