I want some base code to expand on. All I need is a foundation of a simple html page and html form that accepts a few inputs. I want these inputs to be accessed by javascript and passed to a java applet that is also displayed on the same webpage. The inputs can be anything, such as a name or number. The applet should just be a box that will take these inputs from the form and display them. I really don't care what the applet or webpage look like I just want the base code to see how the inputs of the form can be passed to the applet and displayed. Also one of the inputs should be altered by the applet before it displayed (multiply a number by 2).

Is the applet a true requirement? That kind of technology is quite old and less supported with time; widely discouraged nowadays. Is there any alternative to use, or there is a reason for this to be a must?
