My current résumé isn't terrible but it leaves out, incorrectly describes, and/or misrepresents my particular strengths.
Shown below is an incomplete list of examples expanding on why I'm discontent with it:
-It doesn't fully capture who I am as a person and an employee.
-What my short-term and long-term goals are (career-wise and personally).
-It doesn't include a lot of CS-related skills that employers may want to see.
-It downplays my major-related applicational experience; I've done at least five large projects in my classes but none are currently listed on my résumé.
-It doesn't look as professional as those of my co-workers.
-It's too factual; doesn't glorify my strengths (academically and personally)
I'm looking for an experienced résumé editor that's familiar with computer science terminology (if you don't know the difference between Linux and Unix that might be a good indication you're not right for the contest) and has superb writing skills (not just with grammar; with crafting sentences that will appeal to employers and with enough experience to make judgement calls on what skills should and shouldn't be included, in what order, and how to present those skills.
The document layout should be easy to read with strategic category placement.
It needs to fill up one page (single-sided); I don't have a strong opinion on colored text and/or images (as opposed to black-and-white without images).
I anticipate this contest will generate a lot of follow-up questions so I'll stay online as much as possible. I look forward to working with qualified freelancer!
I've attached my current résumé and will add a list of skills/projects/certifications excluded from my current résumé.
