Things we like:
The part with the products in the horizontal bar,
iThe graphics look better.
There are three boxes (article/ blog/ tweets)
Using less text. Usually when its a big paragraph people will not read it.
The footer is less cluttered.
That the search box has more room
Shorter, well thought though text is nicer
A back to top in the footer
Text is better distributed.
http://html5boilerplate.com is a good example of putting content in a grid

Things we don't like:
the navigation bar needs to look nicer
There are no nifty javascript effects in a jpg
There should be NO DUMMY TEXT (at the bottom of the footer).
The fonts should look better
The content should not feel crowded.
using dots to scroll are nice cause it gives an impression of the number of things to scroll through, like on an iPhone
a a magnifying glass for search, we can generate a text box on over and this saves space

The site 2013.opentracker.net is the new version of are current site www.opentracker.net.

Our target is someone who owns a company website or app, looks at the home page and thinks "Wow I need to try this for my website/ app or sales team"

To get a gist of what we do take a look at api-dev.opentracker.net, www.opentracker.net, 2013.opentracker.net). Take a look at the products we have to offer: web analytics, mobile analytics, lead capture, big data as a service.

As with a master's paint brush make the design of the home page look better.

NOTE: The main color scheme (font colors on dark gray background/ dark gray font on white/ logo) NEED TO STAY THE SAME. I.e. the company style needs to be recognizable.

The "track your visitors now", needs to be placed somewhere to the top of the site above the fold (before scrolling).

The best design up to now has been attached, see if you can improve on it!

It should tickle our target audiences interests. The person is typically from a website owner, sales team, a developer of apps or websites, or a company hiring these people to make their website or app. They are not afraid of trying out technology. You need to read through the site and get a feel for what we already have to offer (www.opentracker.net).

The homepage can be playful with an emphasis on professional and clean (eg https://chartbeat.com or http://eu.marketo.com)

On the navigation the red color when scrolling over the navigation can be improved. Try working with a different colors. The line spacing for the navigation publication and company is bigger for the last items. the search box and blog/ login are all cluttered together.

We want people to login easily, so that can get some type of emphasis or stand on its own. The visuals should invite are target audience.

What needs to be improved is the way the text is displayed, the form, (the line spacing, the fonts, the way the navigation is shown (line spacing) the way the search box and blog and login is displayed), the way the boxes are aligned. For instance the "Opentracker Products" section is in a box, and displays four products. Right now the box is hitting the gray area underneath. Its not centered with white spacing one top, and no white spacing on the bottom. The border on the left is visible and the border on the right is not.

We were very impressed with a lot of the entries.

Dear CH
I read the brief and the questions and answers.
I have also browsed both the new and the old site, and both are implemented in Drupal.
That is why I do not understand why the site should be implemented in HTML / CSS, unless Drupa will rule.
But then the implementation in HTML / CSS is an arduous task, mostly for content management and database.

I don't really what you mean by [implement the html/ css to win] . My team will make the website in coded form html but I cant submit the html files here because it only allows to upload image files here like which have .img or png

Don't understand why it's required to implement HTML/CSS by the designers! This contests recommended skills are Graphic Design, User Interface / IA, Website Design! It's not gonna work if you love to see more creative designs! There are a good number of designers who don't like to implement HTML/CSS rather designing! You can implement HTML/CSS into the wining layered PSD design easily by other freelancers. The goal of this contest is to have a great design! isn't it?

  Point taken. Lack of HTML/CSS knowledge should not impede you from making a good design.
  
  Your design should do the talking. If you cant implement the HTML/CSS, because you don't have this skill, then simply state you can't do this because you lack this skill. This should not impede you from entering the contest.
  
  I will consult with others if the design is too hard to implement in html/css and give feedback to guide you in this regard.
  
  I also sugest you team up with people who do possess this skill, its a better sell.

  PSD format/ png format will get you more feedback to improve in another edition. This is what others are doing at the moment. You will need to implement the html/ css to win.
