New website in WordPress that I'm working on: http://184.108.40.206.
It is an improvement of my old website http://www.deltascripts.com.
I like the layout just like it is now (position and size of things), but it needs some color-adjustments (removals?) and possibly background-improvements.
#1. I don't like the "big button-effect" that the new website is offering. A header with dark background maybe would be better. Something to make a nicer transition from the header to the slider and still look good on the sub-pages that don't have the slider. When using a ipad the website looks already better actually (maybe have something to do with backround is more distant and buttons not so visible in header).
#2. Link-color: I feeld the red color used on both links and headers stands out to mutch. It is up to you to provide something that looks good, but a suggestion from me is to maybe just use a kind of dark-blue color for links and a standard black or gray header for all sub-heading in the rigth column (with a thin border under it).
#3. Bootstrap: I would like to see this website implemented in boot-strap or at least give me opurtunity to to use bootstrap code somehow in the content-area/rigth-margin. It is because they offer a lot of simple html-components that looks nice (panels, tables, jumbo++). I can see away from this requirements if you provide very good reason, but keep in mind that you will be behind the competitors that are willing to go boot strap style.
What you should do to this:
1. Give me a design suggestion for frontpage and one sub-page (the PHP Classifieds sub-page). You are free to also give other font-colors (for instance, the very black font may been to be soften somewhat).
2. If you win: implement the code on the website above.
3. Additional: Make a seperate html+css page not in WP that I can divide in [login to view URL], [login to view URL] to use in custom-pages elsewhere (outsite of WordPress). Withouth the slider. The top-level menu can be hard-coded in html for this part.
I will judge your design based on the complete picture: Rather than follow my suggestions in detail above, you should provide something that makes the website "complete" and give areas that is fluid between eachother. This includes font-color, text-sizes and everything else. Less is often more.
One note: The current WP is latest install and is developed by a professional design company. So it is not-complicated theme-design that you can find when you buy ready-made templates and pretty straigth-forward setup withouth many plugins and stuff.
