  First off I want to say thank you to everyone who submitted. I have been very impressed by the level of work and artistic talent shown by the entries over the last several days. Next I want to apologize for the delay, several of the management staff are meeting tomorrow to finalize our decision who the contest winner is. The four selected entries that are at 5 stars are in the final selection process. Thank you everyone, check back tomorrow evening to see the results of who has won!

     Do not worry about the 3x1 size. That is not a needed constraint as I can scale the images myself.

  I have posted more messages to your private boards to give tips where revisions can be made. Also I want to stress please do not add in multiple version of the same image in different colors. It is unnecessary and makes it more time consuming to get the reviews back to everyone. I will check the submissions again several hours before the closing time. Thank you once again to everybody who has been posting, this has been a really successful contest because of all of your work. It is awesome to see how many different versions and visions each person has for nearly the same concept.

  Hi! I tried with a different approach... I hope you like #22 .. The negative space in the gamepad shape is representing teeth and i made dripping blood to form the four lines!

     I believe I have responded to each participant thus far, also I have added ratings to the submissions thus far. At the moment the 'eyes' have a slightly higher rating as they are conveying a more aggressive feeling and getting a bit better definition while still keeping in the constraints of the contest. However if you feel strongly about a different design or feel you can pull off a paw, keep at it, each of the higher ranking paws has some really excellent elements but none has hit the mark just yet. I really hope to see some revisits and want to thank everyone thus far who has submitted. You guys are making this an excellent contest and alot of fun to be apart of!

  I just want to point out that you should be aware that maybe madcatz(same business field as you are) may or may not have copyrighted something like scratches. (same as jack wolfskin and the trademark "paw") Design will follow.

     Thanks for the input. We are aware of madcatz and certainly do not wish to infringe upon any trademark of theirs. It is impossible for them to wholly own the image of scratches, take Monster energy drink for instance also has a similar feature. But it is important to keep in mind their needs to be significant difference from the design of what they are doing and what we are looking for.

  I also wanted to comment that a 'Paw' is not entirely necessary, if you have a better idea/ different interpretation of 'Animal' then run with it. For instance one idea that was kicked around was an eye peering through the set of claw marks,

     I appreciate your response, unfortunately at this time I cannot do so. At the moment we are attempting to see the type of work that is available for this budget, and in case you are unaware it costs additional money to Seal the contest. If that is a concern for you I would suggest submitting close to the deadline.

     Yes this is more along the lines as needed. As a reminder the image needs 4 tears/slashes, I like the direction you are going with this however the paw is a bit too clean. Do not feel required to use a gradient in the paw at all, that was something used on the example to give it a bit more life. Extra detail is always nice. Nice work, but needs something more.

  The following is preliminary work for the direction we were heading in, we are looking for just a 2d image. This should be used for reference, but a much more aggressive look is desired.

  Hey I live in Atlanta Georgia as well, although I don't quite understand what you want. Do you want a game controller to be 3d modeled and then have a skin of designed? Or do you only want a skin? I'm not quite sure please explain more.

     We are looking only for the graphic (or image) which will be applied to the controller not a 3d model. Thanks for you quesiton, I hope that clears things up.
