I need a drawing of a tree with character, this will then be laser cut out of layers of veneer. The veneer will also have detail etched on to the surface. The picture can only be made up of edges or line shading, so I would suggest a pen and ink drawing. I do not wish the drawing to look like a cartoon, and so feel pen and ink would be better than a vector drawing, but I am quite happy to be proved wrong.

The tree is "The Warrior Ash"

This is the third tree in the series.

The writing on the card will be as follows:

The Warrior Ash
The ancient Britons called me 'Ash', meaning spear. In battle I was their most common weapon; a seven foot shaft topped with an iron point. I am also first choice for arrow shafts and small bows, but I can turn my hand to many things from aeroplane wings and sports cars, to walking sticks and the handle for every garden tool in your shed. When coppiced, I will give strong straight bean poles after five years or oars after twenty.
My Latin name 'Fraxinus' means 'firelight. In the evening, you can rest easy by the fire if you have a supply of Ash by your side, as ash green or ash dry, I am fit to to warm a kings slippers by.

The drawing wants to reflect the shape of an Ash tree with it's light and slightly patchy covering of leaves, - plenty of images can be found online - but the drawing needs to have a strong face within the tree and reflect the text above, with a spear incorporated within the design.

a couple of images of Ash trees are attached. The outline shape of the tree has to be roughly right; I will reject entries that are shaped like an Elm,Oak, or Yew.

The sketch does not need a background as this will be added later.

  Great warrior. The leaves are in big bunches which is not typically an ash tree, they are more sparse.

some of the best-drawn trees are just not suitable for cutting out of a wood vaneer, so although 7, 23, 11 and 17 are great drawings, they are not what I need.
