'FarmGate Online' is a new business shipping farm fresh produce through a network of 'Gates'. 'Gates' may be schools, churches, community, sporting clubs or individuals. 'Gates' generate income and this is often a source of fundraising.
As a business we focus heavily on ensuring we ship the finest quality produce and that growers and producers supplying us earn a good price for their produce. The inspiration for this business came from the poor way in which smaller farmers are treated by the big supermarkets. We are 100% Australian owned and operated.
We are also strongly commited to being as environmentaly low impact as possible. In every aspect of the business we focus on the 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' philosophy.
We are gaining a strong following on Facebook and are working to expand our social media footprint over the coming months. We see social as a big part of our business as the sales model itself uses social groups as a core platform. We want people to feel that by joining up and buying through farmgate online they are part of a community helping the farmers and their community.
Our current website [login to view URL] was created quickly to get the business started but we anticipate rebuilding the site in the near future. We plan to do minimal print advertising but there will be the basics such as business cards and flyers. From an environmental perspective we will seek to keep printed materials to a minimum.
Our target audience are females from 25 to 55 and the majority of sessions accessing the site are from mobile devices and tablets. A successful design for us must pay close attention to the need for the colours, fonts and layouts to be clear and present well on devices with small screens. We have added the relevant google analytics and Facebook insights to the brief.
We do not have any preconceived ideas regarding colours or layouts beyond the need for clarity and legibility.
“Responded well to what was something of a changing brief. Very happy with the final result. Would be happy to work with again.”
