A logo for a young company, called Varigate. The logo should prominently include the word VARIGATE. Following is a description of the company, and hence of what the logo needs to reflect. The company is a WATER TECHNOLOGY company, which developed a software for saving money by SAVING WATER in agricultural irrigation. The name 'Varigate' connotes 'VARIABLE IRRIGATION' - i.e. watering different parts of a field differently. The logo is therefore preferably blue/light/blue/turquoise in color (water). It must incorporate a DROP. It preferably somehow indicates VARIABILITY (variable irrigation): e.g. the size of the letters may slightly INFLATE in centre, or TWO drops in different sizes. Logo must be BOLD, young, strong, simple, indicate simplicity and huge business potential. Single colour. To be used in Website, letterhead, business card, etc.

I attach several drafts I prepared, which may be an indication of possible directions. I am open to other directions as well. Two main concepts I think I like are: either (a) the name in slightly ballooning size, with a large drop in the background, either outline, or colour-filled, or image (I did image, but think its not good). or (b) the name in bold, either with change or no change in size, with a small drop 'dripping' from one of its letters. Something like the attached example, but I didn't have the tools to have the 'leg of the A' narrow down to 'drip' onto the drop. Another possibility I am willing to consider (I think less likely, but not sure), is the letter v on backgound of a drop; like the 'f' of Facebook logo.

Preferably the Logo must be provided with three variants: (1) plain logo, (2) with sub heading 'world's cheapest water', and with subheading of market-subsidiary e.g. 'USA'. The logo will be delivered as a vector, png, and an editable layered photoshop file.

Note: Attached also is a logo of an existing company - care must be taken NOT TO BE TOO SIMILAR to it; being a bit reminding of its logo is not bad, but must not be accused of being confused with it. For example, it has two drops - must not be too similar.

Hi all, as you can see, I have extended the contest by a few days, in order to reach suitable designs. My strong tendency is for the name (in either all lower case or all uppercase) ACROSS a large drop, which can be 3D, semi-transparent, solid fill, or stylized outline. I am open to other suggestions as well. Definitely avoid green over blue. I prefer all solid blue colour, or 2 shades of blue (not sure about this exactly).
