The project goal is to design a logo to be used on business cards, marketing materials, and correspondence. The entity bring represented is the "Institute for Hermitic Studies", a privately funded research institute that provides solitary retreats to members for artistic and scholarly work. The logo should portray the positive aspects of solitude as applied to artistic, academic, and spiritual development. The logo should be simple yet refined and appeal to an educated target audience. A silhouette of a wise man on a mountaintop is a good start. The logo should work as a letterhead. The attached picture is the actual location of the institute so the logo should incorporate perhaps a stylized version of this butte. Neutral earth tones are best for color palette. The logo should incorporate the word "The Institute for Hermitic Studies"

I really like the designs that incorporate the silhouette of the actual mountain in the back( #1 , #24 , #27 ). I like the image of the meditating monk as well( #13 , #16 ). The font choice in #1 is spot on as well. Nice entries all. I will pm you individually for revisions.
