Contest Brief

Logo is for a new organisation called "Channel M".

Things that you need to know about Channel M:

- Digital video channel that will deliver videos to mobile devices (smartphones, tablets etc) around the world
- Videos are made by filmmakers from all around the world.
- Logo will also be used for app icon as well as website etc

MANDATORY: We would like to capture in the logo the fact that Channel M is all about videos - incorporate this into the icon in some clever way. We'd like to see the letter "M" bold & prominent with the word "channel" in smaller font around the letter M..Color should be limited to different shades of grey (gun metal grey, silver etc) as well as black & white with maybe a tiny splash of color if it makes sense (red or yellow). Style of logo should be digital media/film media style. We want the logo to be "designy" & professional looking - not too complicated.

OPTIONAL: If possible we'd like to have the logo capture the fact that videos are made around the world. Maybe with a globe symbol in watermark in the background somewhere but if this looks to complicated then we may not go with it.

Google "digital media logos" & "film media logos" for the kind of styles we are looking for.

Designers.. please do a Google image search on "clever logos". You will see these are the kind of logos we like. They are simple yet bold & professional. Many of you are submitting designs that are way too complicated & therefore does not match our corporate style. Thanks.

If you are doing different variations of the same design, please submit on the one sheet instead of multiple entries. Multiple entries of the same design will be rejected.

Hello designers. As per the brief this is for ONLINE video so the correct universal icon for online video is the play button, or play button within a film frame. Any graphics representing TV's won't be as preferred as online video icons.

Hello designers. Many of you are using too much colour in your submissions. We want it to be a bolder looking logo with less color. Try white on black with dark grays or silver. If you want to include color please just a small splash of it. Also make sure you incorporate the video theme as your submission will be rejected otherwise.

Too many colors and the M with video icon looks a bit awkward. Please google digital media icons to get inspiration.
