Contest Brief

The Association of Illawarra Shooting Clubs is a newly formed non profit body representing sporting shooters in the Illawarra region located south of Sydney Australia. Members of the association shoot both pistol and rifle. The Association is looking for a multipurpose logo that can be used on stationary, web sites, business cards and perhaps also merchandise such as caps and T-shirts.

The association predominantly represents target shooters that shoot holes in paper. We do not represent RAMBO types, we do not shoot assault weapons and we do not dress in camo gear. Many of our members strive for selection on National and Olympic teams. The logo should embrace the skill required to shoot accurately with pistol and rifle over short and long distances. The association deals with government departments and thus the logo should covey a message of professionalism rather than that of redneck lawlessness. The logo must not contain blood, animals or other themes that could potentially enrage anti-gun groups.

The Illawarra region is located on the coast and is known for yellow sandy beaches and blue water. I found this logo (http://www.lakeillawarramap.info/Lake_Illawarra_Memory_And_Place_(MAP)_Project_Home_files/iyc_boat_logo.jpg) for a yacht club which I like. Perhaps it may inspire your creative juices.

The submission should include examples of the logo used on stationary, business cards as well as on merchandise. Ideally the examples of letter heads and business cards should include the associations name clearly defined in the design. The name of the association is "Association of Illawarra Shooting Clubs"

The Winning submission will be required to provide all artwork in SVG format and to agree to allow the association full use of the design for whatever purpose the association sees fit. Any fonts that may be used in the design must be able to be used by the association without the need to purchase an additional licence.
