A new magazine called Two Tone desires a logo for it's soon to launch website. We're looking for a design that is clean cut, strong, with character and attitude. We want to stay away from anything too cliche with the obvious 'two tone' aspect. The magazine logo will have 'Two Tone' and 'A society of outsiders' as it's byline. We're open to having 'Magazine' in the logo but it's not a necessity.

The magazine will focus on grassroot street culture from around the world.

It will align itself alongside Dummy Mag, VICE, Dazed Digital, FRANK151 (We also love their logos) Simple but punchy however, we do want to stand out, and want the logo to set the tone for the style of the whole magazine.

Originality is key, so feel free to explore colour, illustration, photoshop and photography skills etc.

There will be many more paid opportunities, within this area, so see this as a great chance to show off your high quality professional skills.

A few hours have gone by and I just wanted to post a few extra points.

Originality and character, that represents what two tone stands for, is important so please keep away from freebie psds or poorly thrown together graphics. Think about what grass root street culture is and what it stands for.

The winner will definitely be someone that pulls together, professional design, creative style and looks like it could represent a street style/culture brand.

ok so I just want to point out the epic irony of this contest. Not only did the party hosting the contest basically waste the time of a ton of designers here who had more elaborate designs than some chosen but the ones who spent 3 minutes in Illustrator ALSO can't get that 3 minutes of their life back. Misery loves company haha. ***hands everyone involved a beer***

Please reconsider #777 with your team, its simple, custom, unique and creative; far better than the other top rated design... Its making sense of "2 tone" half with fill inside and rest with outline only. This will surely emphasize your brand... Thanks

  Thanks @Habbit4dzn Its all about the aesthetic sense, how you perceive something. If CH allow designers to vote for his logo to get the best one like freelancer did to get its original brand, trust me most of the top rated entries will get rejected in the first half :) You've good aesthetic sense but In this world sellers are selling worst stuff with just good explanation and buyer realize it later... This is how it works my friend.

I have just been completely surprised by the ratings of some seriously bad work and rejection of others with design quality! Being an Art Director in Publishing for 15 years in London UK, none of the highly rated ones would even work as a Masthead of a magazine! And I am talking in general, not from a personal side!

  @mehazboun I definitely hear what you're saying, in fact I make a strong effort NOT to use Helvetica in most of my work BECAUSE it's so overused. I think if an Art Director looks at your portfolio and sees Helvetica every where they're going to think "well, he certainly knows where Helvetica is in the font list".

  I'm not knocking @marce10's design because to be honest I would expect to see it used for a fashion studio or a cosmetic product. But calling Helvetica "street culture" is like hearing Elton John play 50 Cent's "In Da Club". It just doesn't match.
