Hi,

This contest is about creating a logo for a French Artist which work is attached so you have an idea of her style.

This logo is going to be used on business cards and promotional material (flyers, portfolio, media releases etc.), as well as on a new website.
Originally for the Australian market (galleries, art collectors) but to be open to an international market.
It needs to be supplied in vector graphic format (.AI or .EPS).

Direction for design:

1 / Words to use are:

NAME OF THE ARTIST (see on flyer attached)
Contemporary Artworks

2 / You can choose lower or uppercase or capitalise style - up to you, as long as it has the right balance.

3 / I am not after a graphic device with the words, just a logo-font. However if you feel that you can bring really something great with a graphic element, give it a try. Things to avoid: paint brushes, palettes, and anything French cliché.
It's mainly a TYPOGRAPHICAL craft job.

4 / Go with a neutral or contemporary colour scheme, but no "bleu white red" please.

5 / Needs to be classy, contemporary, reflects quality, no "artistic, amateur" kind of references.

  The industry of typography is in complete change. "Real" typographers (not talking about the ones posting on Dafont) are now getting paid by the big font service providers (typekit google, etc.) to create new drawings. It's a complex issue. I have no problem to use free fonts on a brand, as long as we dont' bastardise it. Really after some nice spacing/kerning etc.
