My laser setup are shown in attached pictures.
The basic idea is that one laser with short wavelength (normally with blue color) is launched into the waveguide, which is buried in one bulk glass. Then another laser with longer wavelength (normally with red color) come out from the same waveguide. When the laser with longer wavelength go through the Bi2Te3 material, the laser will become to short laser pulses.
The diameter of waveguide is 50 micrometer, with three ring cladding as shown in the cross section picture. The waveguide cladding is consisted with three rings with 20, 28, 36 round bars, respectively. The waveguide is 300 micrometer below the top surface. The waveguide chip is 14 mm long, 2 mm thick, 8 mm wide. The sizes not need to be very accurate.
Bi2Te3 is single atomic layer. I have give your the crystal structure of it. I could give you one single atomic layer graph a bit later.
The laser short pulse have two different types as shown in the example pictures. You could pick one which fits your design best.
