*** Update ***
After having seen your wonderful submissions, I have now decided, that while I appreciate the very colorful looks (believe me, I really do like them), I want to announce that for my final decision I will focus on the submissions that use a reduced color palette that is consistently used. This means that in my final selection, I will most likely pick a design that uses 2-4 colors consistently (shadings and small color details are fine). Also, I really like those approaches that work with a bit of texture and that use sans-serif fonts that stand out (i.e. that do not appear to look generic).
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, just in case that you'd like to adjust your submissions in these next couple of days. Thank you for all the effort so far!
*** Original Description ***
I have created a series of figures that display some parts of the human brain. Now I would like them to be turned in a more sexier and eye-catching version. Eventually, these figures shall be used as stickers or magnets that people can use to learn a bit more about brain anatomy. Therefore, this is what I am looking for:
- Make the figures that I provided look modern, eye-catching and appealing
- It is of high importance, that color and forms are used consistently (the same region across different graphs should look similar - if possible)
- Put the captions inside of the shapes (currently they are placed on the outside) - and make sure they are well readable in a print version of about 3x3 inches (or 7.5x7.5 cm).
I have also attached a few ideas for what I mean with "eye-catching" and "modern" visualizations. I am not entirely focused on either one of these - dazzle me a little with what you think looks great!
Please make sure to take a look at the attached files!
P. S.: In the supplied figures, the colors of the captions have meaning too - please include the markings that are included in grey colors too (e.g. the grey text and lines) but keep them in such a less obvious form.
