Brief for Upspring logo
Background on business and target customer
My new company, Upspring Consulting, or “Upspring”, has been created to serve SMB and mid-sized companies in the technology industry including:
• IT Services and Outsourcing
• IT Managed Services
• Product Engineering
Target companies are in the $5M to $100M revenue range and located throughout the US. The leadership of these companies generally includes technical people. They possess great technical skills but lack and understanding of how marketing can help the business. These organizations, especially non-SaaS companies, are generally not very advanced in digital marketing and typically engage in “random acts of marketing” without a clear and complete vision.
Many of these companies have grown through their own sales efforts and now recognize the need to market beyond their immediate contacts and clients. The pandemic also has accelerated the need for technology solutions, motivating these companies to increase marketing initiatives. However, like all small companies, they are hesitant to spend money and need to see immediate value.
These companies need the proverbial “adult in the room” to provide sound advice and direction. They also want to ensure they have the minimal set of marketing assets needed to have an effected go-to-market capability for their sales team. They also need to begin/accelerate their digital marketing efforts in an impactful and coordinated way.
I want to provide practical and cost-effective marketing solutions to help these companies grow. My plan is to offer branded services as service bundles or “packages” to clients with a set price. Other services would include part-time, fractional CMO services and traditional consulting services.
Thoughts on branding and logo
I want my brand to be perceived as knowledgeable, credible, and trustworthy. But I also want to convey that Upspring is a forward-looking organization. We like to try new things and are not bound by the same tried and true, cookie cutter approaches. I also want to create a balance with clients that includes having fun as we travel on this journey. We can’t take ourselves so seriously all the time.
The name “Upspring” is meant to convey a dynamic feeling, a move forward and growth. I would like to refer to company as “Upspring” in the logo and not “Upspring Consulting”, which is its legal name
I am open to ideas on the logo and do not have a pre-conceived design. My preference is to use a modern looking sans font.
I would also like to be advised on brand colors to compliment the logo.
