The company name is Kaatapult Industries Inc. Kaatapult is spelled differently because the first 4 letters are from the first names of those in my family. Right now the main products are mobile game apps with associated merchandise but I don't want the logo to be associated to any specific game as I intend to have other products eventually. Also, I've associated the name to a catapult because of the concept of "launching new ideas".
I'm looking for a very very simplified graphic of a catapult. The more minimalist the better. Simple line strokes would work. You could even experiment with the lines being different primary colors. I want that eventually when people see the image alone they will immediately think of my company. Likely this will require the view of the catapult being a simple side view. I've included some sample images from the internet but I don't want anyone to think they represent the style I'm looking for. They're included just for thought provocation.
The company name can be included in the design with the name situated below, before or after the logo. I haven't tried to sketch any ideas out but I'm curious if anyone is able to incorporate the simplified image of a catapult right in the name Kaatapult. Not to worry if that's not possible. It's just a thought.
I haven't experimented yet with the idea of printing the company name with the first 4 letters in upper case to represent the first letters of my family. eg: KAATapult Industries Inc. rather than spelled Kaatapult. I'm open to either way depending on whether one looks more visually appealing than the other.
One idea I had was having a very basic catapult in front of the company name launching a small ball over the name where the ball lands at the end to form the period at the end of the word "Inc." with an arced line over the name showing the flight path of the ball. Not sure if that would look good or bad.
Another idea might be having the name "Kaatapult" or "KAATapult form the base of the catapult. Just spit-balling ideas. This may not work either. Feel free to go in a completely different direction.
I've given no thought yet as to the font or colors of the company name other than the fact that I want very simple lettering/font. No cursive or old English.
In the beginning I will be using the catapult logo and the company name in my communication but eventually I want to be able to drop the "Industries Inc." portion and just use the catapult logo and the name "Kaatapult" or "KAATapult" depending on what looks better. So this means that emphasis should be on "Kaatapult" or "KAATapult" and less on "Industries Inc." If the company becomes successful and the catapult image is simple enough, then I hope to be able to just use the catapult image and people will know the company name. This may mean that my idea earlier of having the catapult launch a ball to land as the period at the end of the name may not work.
Check out logos for Dropbox, or YouTube for examples of a simple logo that represents the name.
