first place gets the dollar amount plus a box of Jimmy Bars, second place gets a box of Jimmy Bars and third get 8 Jimmy Bars. Depending on how many submit, there will be a prize for all but that is only if I have enough ...don't do the work thinking it is going to get you a gift cert to Disney...it's just a little bonus if x amount o people do the contest.

Make senses. You are all coming up with you own selection of bars...telling me the significance of the find, "article on most liked bars by diabetics " or "gluten free magazine published this article on 10 bars” Whatever...so when you have your selection of bars, just go online and grab the price per bar and per box (they are not often times just a simple price of box / # of bars in box = single bar price. Usually the box is a deal. Want the real price per bar). And make sure you tell me how many are in a box. And my comment about jimmy bars...they are not in any of these stores so no need to search for them and think something is up or something is up and you waste time. They are not in the stores. The spreadsheet is going to assist in getting the bars into these locations. So now that it's clear as mud again you can go back to talking smack. Very professional. I’d hire you all in a heartbeat!

25% are going to be actual promoted bars. I have received 4 reports in the past couple weeks form different regions stating different pricing, different top sellers, different product messaging...and besides a business proposal I did 6 months ago the manufacturer has not kept up with the trends and pricing. And that is usually not my job when taking on a new project. I don't know how else to do a contest than to have everyone do the same project. (So I'm sorry not all of you will walk away with a win...this isn't Montessori School.) I could have given you a list of the 30-40 bars "I" found but that eliminates the variability as I talked about previously. When I compare your results to see if that variable make its way into the selection of bars you chose, I will better understand the current promotion of the bars prior to my contract starting with this manufacturer.

Does it say somewhere that to be a freelancer you have to be a smart ass? I do apologize because I did change my mind after starting to write it. First I was going to have you chose which four places to get the quotes form. Then I thought different, rewrote the beginning and did not erase the paragraph that follow: "Obviously the most important part is comparing apple to apples. If you are not finding a retail location that has this many, then you have to source form the same place like a site that does comparisons of stores so you get the same stores giving you the possible answers. “IGNORE THIS PARAGRAPH. How to approach this contest: Get on that crazy thing called a computer and Google "Gluten Free All Natural Energy Bars most popular brands” or the like. Maybe "tastiest Gluten Free...sold in the USA." Etc. Poetic License...probably 75% of the bars you find are going to be very small mom and pop shop bars.

  As I understand it, we have to decide which products we think are competitors to Jimmy Bars, then select (a) the top 30 - 40 of them sold by Amazon, Drugstore, Safeway and Meyer/Ralphs/Krueger, (b) the top 10 "best sellers" at 7-11, Plaid pantry/mini mart and a third "outlet" of our own choice (though it is not clear whether these are supposed to be different products to the first group?).
  IF we can't find details from the Stores themselves, we get the information through some "store comparison" site - though not sure whether they will show which lines are the "Best Sellers??
  
  After which we write a report explaining why we selected the products we did (e.g. "This product was in a list of Best Sellers published by whoever"), and in the data we have to explain the Unique Selling Point of each product we selected.
  
  And all for $75, Hmmmm,.
