The font is indeed ethnocentric. The designer agreed to work with us on changing the font. What the designer presented was a logo that was clean, professional and business like. What we learned during this process was that what matters most is how our clients perceive our logo... not how we or other designers do. The polls and surveys we created indicated that this is the best logo for what we are looking for. In the future, you might want to ask why a logo was chosen instead of pointing out why it shouldn't have. I believe that by doing so you will be gathering much more valuable information. Thank you.
