I disagree. The contest brief was good enough to create the video ad. Most of the entries were not good at all. Having said that, the employer should refrain from sending msgs to freelancers when he isn't yet sure about the winning entry. I received a personal msg from him, he said he liked my video. He then requested changes to my submission. I was given an impression that i'll be awarded but to my surprise, some other freelancer was picked. The employer could have simply left comment on the contest page itself/left ratings. Sigh!
and if we go by the freelancers profile, the winner isn't even a video editor but a copy typist! The winning entry doesn't have a clear opening slide as well. Sigh! Wish people knew what kind of video ads work on FB/instagram
