Hi I am uploading a GIF so that you can see the transitions in the homepage. Please click on the above link to see the GIF. I have changed the colors a bit. Though most colors used are not flashy and look decent. The font can be changed according to your request( i have set some which in my opinion looks good). The transitions in homepage looks modern as per your description. And for the logo it can either be on the left also. if you like the basic layout other things can be adjusted. And the homepage basically will display everything from your homepage like recent work and all. And the top two back ground images used are from Australia. :) I hope you like it.
